Thupten Lama

Thupten grew up in Langtang Valley, spending his early years in the mountains long before guiding became his profession. The trails, forests, and high passes were part of everyday life, not something he learned later.

Over time, he turned that experience into a career, training with the Nepal Mountaineering Association and eventually starting Langtang Outdoor Initiative. His goal has always been simple, to share the mountains in a way that feels real, personal, and connected to the local culture.
